As the third generation in a family of New York City property managers, Steven and Mark Hoffman grew up in the boiler rooms and on the rooftops of buildings, learning firsthand the intricate details of building maintenance and running the back-office operations.

Since then, each has excelled in his own area of expertise in the real-estate management field. Steven, a graduate of the Wharton School, runs the firm’s back-office operations, handling all day-to-day activities and all aspects of financial controls. Mark, a construction manager who has supervised the building of more than $100 million worth of real estate, deals with the physical plants of the buildings we manage. We like to think of ourselves as two pillars in the foundation of your property.

When you work with Hoffman Management, you can be assured you will always receive the full attention of one of the principals of our firm. We specialize in personalized, hands-on service, and treat each property as a unique entity rather than fitting it into a cookie-cutter management plan. We analyze every aspect of your building’s operations and prepare a comprehensive long-term plan with action items, schedules and budgets based on Board priorities. Our job is not to set Board policy but to implement it.

Unlike other firms that might run your building on autopilot, we personally review all line items and you can count on us to communicate constantly to keep you updated on every aspect of your building’s operation. We will provide everything you need to make informed decisions. Our reports are accurate, easy to understand, and hand-delivered every month.

Our 90 years of family experience managing luxury co-ops and condos in Manhattan allows us to tap an extensive professional network. If we find you’re not getting the best performance or value for your dollar, we’ll suggest qualified vendors as replacements. However, just as importantly, we do not automatically replace all your vendors. Our policy is: “If it works, don’t fix it.” We bring on board the right professionals for your property, personally interact with all engineers and contractors from initial plans through to completion, scrutinize vendor bills and pay them on time, and work hand in hand with your building’s superintendent to ensure efficient operations. We pride ourselves on providing quick turnaround on all requests. You won’t have to ask us anything twice.
